Ingredients

Apple Filling Ingredients:

  • 6-7 cups of apples peeled, cored and chopped into bite sized pieces
  • 2 tbsp light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice – optional
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch or arrowroot powder

Crumble Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/4 white sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegan butter room temperature

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • Combine all the ingredients for the apple filling in a large bowl and mix thoroughly.
  • Transfer the apple filling into a medium-sized baking dish.
  • In another bowl, combine all the crumble ingredients and mix thoroughly using either the back of a fork or your hands. Personally, I prefer using my hands to ensure everything is well blended.
  • With your hands, spread the crumble over the apple mixture.
  • Bake the crumble for 40 to 45 minutes. Allow it to rest for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
